The Incio

The Incio is a municipality belonging to the province of Lugo, in Galicia. It is located in the southern part of the region of Sarria. In the mid-nineteenth century it was called Rendar.

One of its most traditionally known and used products since Roman times, has been his famous marble, known as Incio marble. It is a very porous material, gray and veined in various shades. The walls of the Romanesque ensemble of O Hospital are built with this material, located on the road that connects the capital, The Cross of the Beginning, with A Ferreria, in addition to numerous sculptures and architectural elements that adorned the Roman city of Lucus Augusti.
