Lancara is a municipality belonging to the province of Lugo, in the Autonomous Community of Galicia. It belongs to the Region of Sarria. The municipal capital is Puebla de San Julián..

The numerous forts that are still preserved today in the municipality of Láncara are proof of a past of very old human settlements.. They are distributed throughout the municipality., but with special incidence in the western and southern areas.

From Roman times it is preserved as the main reference “the Carracedo Bridge” that would fulfill the function of the passage of the Neira river in the old route of Lucus Augusti.
